Do you want to learn how to make your own homeschool writing curriculum?

Making your own curriculum can save you money. It does, however, take a bit more of your time to develop.

I have some articles for you today that have tips, advice, suggestions, and information on developing a writing curriculum. Each article offers a different approach, but the information in each is very helpful. And while this isn’t an all-inclusive guide, it will get you started on building your own curriculum.

Homeschool Writing Curriculum: What to teach and when? on Design Your Homeschool – Marianne believes that writing is very developmental. In this article, she offers advice for developing your curriculum, suggestions for writing across curriculum, tips for creating your own scope and sequence, ideas for forms of writing, and more. How to Build a Homeschool Writing Curriculum on Evan-Moor Educational Blog – Teacher/Homeschooler, Amy Michaels, offers a systematic approach that includes three elements: 1) Warm Up, 2) Teach, and 3) Practice and Extend.

Developing a Meaningful Writing Curriculum on Houghton Mifflin Harcourt‎ – This PDF by Dave Kemper, co-author of the Write Source products, discusses three important components of any writing curriculum: fluency, content, and accuracy.
