When You Can’t Find the Right Homeschool Product, Go to These Marketplaces

When your child is struggling with a particular concept and the curriculum you have doesn’t help, you sometimes have to go elsewhere for a solution.

Fortunately, there are educational marketplaces on the web that have a wide variety of products that teach virtually every topic that you could ever think of in every kind of way. PLUS, many of these products are VERY inexpensive.

If you haven’t already heard of them, educational marketplaces are e-commerce sites where homeschoolers and teachers can sell educational materials that they create. The sites usually take a small percentage of the royalties. Buyers like you visit these sites to find resources that they need for educating their kids. You can find both secular and faith-based products in these marketplaces.

I’m going to share some of these marketplaces with you and give you some tips on the best ways to search for the resources that you’re looking for.

Marketplaces with Homeschool Products

Curriculum Crossroads – This site has both products and classes for homeschoolers.

Teachers Pay Teachers – TPT is a marketplace for teachers to share, sell, and buy educational resources. It is one of the largest educational marketplaces with 4 million active members and 2.4 million products, some of which are suitable for homeschoolers. They also have free resources available for download. They typically have four sitewide sales per year.

Teacher’s Dojo – Teacher’s Dojo is another site where teachers can sell their resources.

Search Tips

Because these marketplaces have a huge number of products, you’ll want to be specific in your searches. Instead of “math facts,” for example, you’ll want to search for “math facts games” or “math facts practice pages.”

There are usually search filters such as “Subject,” “Product,” and “Price” in the sidebar or top of each site. You may want to take advantage of these when you search.
